trenta-yeth birthday: an accounting
i initially did not want to go to work. however, zel talked me into going to the office. me...lazy....
aboard the bus, i received some text message from my closest college buddies. would consider these as treasured relationships since we've been friends for more than 10 years. their messages made me smile. upon entering the office, zel and elke walked to my cubicle, greeted me and made beso. am starting to think that this wouldn't be a bad day after all. after i booted up my PC, my YM chat box opened and i found that all the girls in the office
greeted me via their YM status. they kept their YM status, which were birthday greetings for me, for the whole day. i thought it was sweet and amusing to look at. a few laughs happened during lunch. after lunch, i got a surprise when a dozen red roses arrived in the office. no name on the card. just a birtday greeting and a smiling face written on the face of the card. afterwards, went visible online to conduct a mini-hunt as to who sent the flowers from holland tulips. this eventually led to more people greeting me online. also received some birthday greetings via the office email and yahoo mail. afternoon snacks was care off kaye, who despite
being based in singapore, was able to send over her treat for us. it didn't stop there since by the end of the day, friends treated me to a slice of cake at starbucks. it was delivered at our table by one of the establishment's good-looking personnel except that i didn't notice since i was busy with some text messages. the day finally ended with friends verbally sharing with me their wishes.
guess, it was a good day after all. i'm not sure if 30's is the new 20's. but i guess it's the new 20's if you haven't grown up during your 20's. if you've used up all your time on work, in the office, at home and not exploring other places, on yourself and not knowing other people, on what's just offered and not discovering other aspects life offers. i think knowing life, exploring places, gaining experiences, and knowing people should be done in one's 20's. when one is younger. but then again as jeo mentioned, there is a difference between growing up and growing old. is it time to grow old? i don't know. guess, i'll be able to answer that after another 10years. however, now, i hope i'm able to say that i'm all grown up. hehehe..

OMG it was your bday???! Sooory I missed it! Hope it's not too late for me to greet you: Happy B-day, girl!
I used to dread turning 30. As the day approached, I would even get anxiety attacks! But I find that it's not really that bad. There are things that I can do now that I wouldn't have dared when I was younger. Gone are the old insecurities...Yeah, 30 is the new 20--whatever that may mean for each of us. Have fun! :)
