tell me how 2009 started?

week1-
learned my sister got engaged, wedding in 2010;
rushed a report i was following up in the last business days of 2008;
got interviewed by a news crew which showed up on 3 news programs (it was less than 60seconds of fame);
received some aggressive moves from a married dude while in public transport;
saw a chopped up body being laid on a make-shift table on the way to the dentist (yep, if you see a human arm, another human arm, and half a torso being lifted off a drainage in a vacant area..you start to think, 'that's one big dude..who now looks like goat's meat you see hanging in the public market. but, where'd all the blood go??')

week2-
went to china (beijing and shanghai area);
experienced winter (started to think, 'i never dreamt of seeing snow. still feel the same way about snow. i hate the cold. i hate freezing temperatures. i hate winter.);
enjoyed china's culture, those times when we were not in the malls trying to warm our asses;
walked the great wall;
saw the forbidden city;
stood somewhere in the tiananmen square;
stared at mao zedong's monument;
took pictures at the temple of heaven;
got addicted to street food in the hutong area;
rode a sleeper train for the first time;
stayed at a backpacker's inn for the first time (will narrate our china itinerary next time. if you plan to stay there, choose the beijing backpacker's inn in beijing and the mingtown youth hostel if in shanghai. great places, great people);
got offered hishhash/marijuana by some dude while walking along NanJing Rd

week3-
received news that the family rushed mi abuela to the hospital. she was pronounced DOA, was then revived, and was then brought to the ICU

week4-
after 3 days, mi abuela passed away;
stayed at a wake for the first time

week5-
buried mi abuela early in the week after relatives arrived from the US;
got sick midweek, my coughing spree that lasted nearly a year began to subside (personally diagnosed my coughing spree as psychosomatic..stress-induced)

week6-
learned my cousin was graduating magna cum laude at the UCLA (no surprise. mi abuelo graduated cum laude in la salle and his brother was magna cum laude at the ateneo. started to think'..so wtf happened to me? sheesh...');
saw the former president FVR at the mall (then started to think, 'i thought there was a height requirement for soldiers?');
a neighbor who i've been eyeing the past year invited me on facebook (yep, right on the day before valentine's. now at least i know his name *sigh*)

week7-
today. got some flak from the director during the team meeting;
received an email from my regional manager that she's resigning (worked with her for the past 4yrs);
one of my counterparts in the other country is resigning;
while in a bus going home, a crash happened on the other side of the flyover. a 10wheeler smashed right into the tail end of an an 18wheeler. the impact drove the front side of the 18wheeler towards its right. its sides forcing a lamp post to bend and fall on our side of the road. the final sight: an 18wheeler blocking one entire section of the flyover like some gate or barricade. the 10wheeler kissing its ass. on the other side of the road, our bus, missing the falling lamp post by a thread, driving on.

and it's only monday..

ask me what i remember 5months ago..i only remember going through some major surgery requiring a month recovery and strict bed rest
